Shea butter (Butyrospermum parkii butter*) is rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins A and E, and natural antioxidants, making it a very nourishing, softening, and emollient ingredient for the skin. Furthermore, shea butter has anti-inflammatory properties and can help soothe dry, irritated, or itchy skin. Due to its emollient properties, shea butter is especially beneficial for dry and mature skin, as it helps improve elasticity and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
It is obtained from the nuts of the shea tree, which is native to West Africa, and the shea butter we use is from organic production.
Obtaining Oil from Shea Butter
Shea butter is extracted from the nuts of the shea tree and processed using a traditional method that involves crushing and heating the nuts to extract the butter. Once the butter is obtained, it is filtered and allowed to cool to obtain a high-quality product.
