Calendula oil (Calendula officinalis flower extract*) is one of our favorites; we use it in many products and also make it ourselves in our laboratory, macerating the dried flowers in extra virgin olive oil from organic production. The cosmetic properties of calendula oil include its ability to nourish the skin, thanks to its high content of essential fatty acids and natural antioxidants.
It is also very effective for reducing the appearance of scars and blemishes, as well as for soothing irritated and sensitive skin.
Obtaining Calendula Oil
We produce this oil in our laboratory by macerating the dried flowers of the calendula plant in organic extra virgin olive oil, which allows the properties of the plant to be transferred to the oil; this is what is called a macerate or an oleate. We macerate the flowers for 40 days, and then we proceed to a double filtration to guarantee its optimal preservation.
