100% Natural Cosmetics
We all want 100% natural cosmetics , but do we really know what they are?
Natural cosmetics are those made with ingredients of natural origin (plant or animal), without petroleum derivatives or synthetic chemicals. Explained like this, it seems easy, right? But no, it isn't, because the conventional cosmetics industry invests a lot of resources in advertising to make consumers believe they produce natural products. The use of the words "natural," "ecological," "biological," and "organic" is not regulated by law, and that's where the battle lies.
Claims such as “ paraben-free ”, “ silicone-free ” do not mean that the product is natural, even if it contains some natural ingredient as a claim, “ with rosehip ”, “ with aloe vera ”. The first thing we have to do is see if the product is certified (EcoCert, BioVidaSana, BDIH, ICEA, etc.), this already guarantees that it is natural cosmetics, and from here, see what is the % of organic ingredients in the product and read the list of ingredients, that part is regulated by law, and all the ingredients contained in the product must appear, from highest to lowest concentration in the formula.

There's a list of the main ingredients to avoid in cosmetics published by the Ecoestetica Network. There you can find a reference for the ingredients that shouldn't appear in your cosmetics.
Current Command Program
When the Comando Actualidad team contacted us, they told us they were looking for:
- A laboratory that produces “only” natural cosmetics , without petroleum derivatives and without synthetic chemicals
- Let them enter their facilities and see the process of making a product.
- And finally, they wanted to see and touch the raw materials we work with.
Before the questions were even finished, we had already said yes to everyone.
We have nothing to hide, and in fact, all of our manufacturing processes and all the raw materials we use are natural and more than 90% organic.
The entire program lasts one hour, but here's the part about cosmetics. We'll start at minute 2, explaining the main differences with conventional cosmetics and what characterizes natural and/or organic cosmetics.
In the video we explain some of the synthetic ingredients to avoid in cosmetics and how European legislation, in Annex III ( European Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2019 ), and Spanish legislation ( Royal Decree 85-2018 ), regulate the use of these "controversial" ingredients for people's health.
Many thanks to Mila and the entire RTVE Current Affairs team.
